It appears that a friend of mine here in Manhattan wants to be the last man standing if there is some sort of disaster here on the island. I asked him to email me his emergency preparedness list – and without a doubt, this is one prepared dude. So, over the last month or two Renae and I have been putting our emergency kits/72 hour backpacks together and formulating our plan in case anything ever happens.

And there you have it. If an asteroid hits Manhattan....well, none of these items will really matter if an asteroid hits Manhattan. But we feel prepared for an emergency should one arrive. Hopefully we'll never have to take these backpacks out of the closet (except for fun camping trips).
